We’re going to be at the Manchester Music & Drama Expo on 10th October!
We’re very excited to be attending with our partner The OHMI Trust both on our stand (T2 – come and say hello!), and in the panel discussion lead by our Chief Executive, Mary-Alice Stack.
Panel discussion: Inclusive approaches to instrumental music teaching
Virtually all standard musical instruments require two highly-dexterous hands to play and hold them, and so without the right enabling equipment and/or adaptations many children are being unnecessarily excluded. We will examine the role of adaptive musical instruments and playing methodologies in inclusive accessible music learning in the classroom and beyond with a range of musicians and educators:
- Mary-Alice Stack: Chief Executive of Creative United, chairing
- Tom Doughty: Disabled Musician, lap slide guitarist
- Rachel Wolffson: General Manager of The OHMI Trust
- Ian Burton, Chief Executive, Nottingham Music Hub
So, what do you need to know?
We’ve put together some useful links to the event details below. We look forward to seeing you there!
How to get there:
The Expo is being held in Manchester’s Old Trafford which is easily accessible by public transport (bus, tram, train). Work out your route using the map below.
